I have hands on experience working within a substance misuse service (CGL Bromley). Collaborating with recovery teams, medical teams and rehab services, where I provided counselling and coaching within the recovery and relapse prevention stages to support clients in understanding themselves and creating strategies for a healthier life.
From experience within the tech industry, I also have an in-depth understanding towards the effects of social media and how this can also be challenging for people who feel this has taken over their life's and making them feel more disconnected.
I deeply understand that shame and guilt can be wrapped into misuse. I do not like to describe the use of substances, alcohol, gambling and social media with the usual terminology. From experience, I see it as a strategy to get by, survive and feel safe. We all do, and use different things to help us feel okay. Sometimes what once helped can now hinder us. I refer to these challenges as just living. Being human and a person. I do not judge and fully understand the challenges being faced.
My expertise within leadership coaching has equally been developed with over 10 years of hands on experience of managing and growing leaders within the fast pace tech world of software engineering. Where I was a Software Quality Assurance Manager, overseeing the department, creating technical strategies, growing CI/CD automation tools and finding solutions to automated delivery within the department and business.
With overseeing the department it was one of my cores focuses in fostering a transformational department by growing a talented, effective and grounded team of leaders who could support the peers within the department and be as effective as possible for their teams and the business success.
This meant I coached leaders from their hummable beginnings and those who are experienced into becoming seasoned, grounded, attuned and transformational.
Along the way, I developed job architectures, career development frameworks spanning across entry level roles into more senor technical and management roles, career progression, career development techniques and employing effective but transformational coaching tools.
With my skillset and experience, I grew a reputation within the area of coaching leaders and effective department/team strategies. This would often result in a humbling experience for me where other managers and leaders were referred to me internally for mentorship, coaching, support and guidance within their own departments/teams and leaders.
